Forbes India presents D2C Disruptors Awards powered by Smytten Felicitates 17 Outstanding Brands - Take a Look at the Winning Brands
Mumbai, December 20, 2022
Fueled by growing digital infrastructure, rising internet users and increasing smartphone penetration, India's direct-to-consumer (D2C) market has grown exponentially in the last few years. It is likely to become a $100 billion industry by FY25.
Over the years, the D2C approach has become a preferred choice of start-up brands as it offers a low barrier-to-entry eCommerce strategy, allowing brands to sell directly to the consumer.
Furthermore, there is a growing consumer interest in D2C brands. A recent Google report signifies that search interest in D2C brands in India rose by 533% in 2021. Backed by this growing consumer interest, today India is the world's fifth-largest retail destination, and there are over 800 successful D2C brands in the Indian market.
To mark the success of the rising Indian D2C brands, Forbes India partnered with Smytten, India’s largest trial and discovery platform, to identify and recognise the trailblazing D2C brands across the categories who stand out from their peers in terms of product quality, growth, customer experience, marketing strategy, innovation, sustainability and future potential. The marquee initiative aimed to celebrate the successful journey of D2C brands, which have disrupted the way consumers search, compare and shop for products in India and continue to take their ambitions a notch higher with every innovation.
The D2C Disruptors Awards ceremony was held on 15th December 2022 at Trident, BKC in Mumbai and was attended by industry stalwarts and founders/co-founders from top Indian D2C brands. The awards witnessed the presence of business leaders from across the country who came together to cheer on each other’s success as well as discuss India’s D2C future outlook.
The event was graced by the presence of eminent people from the industry, including Rajan Anandan (MD, Sequoia), Sonal Dabral (Ad Guru Creative Consultant, Sequoia), Shankar Prasad (Founder, Plum Goodness), Rajaram Shankar (Co-founder, Ital Veloce), Gaurav Nayyar (COO, boAt), Gaurav Khatri (Co-founder, Noise), Pawan Kumar Dasaraju (Co-founder, Mensa Brands), Sukhleen Aneja (CEO, The Good Glamm Group), Anshul Jain (MD, Lighthouse) and Bobby Pawar (Chairman & COO, Havas Group).
